The Cedarcrest project represented our entry into Vancouver’s North Shore. The objective was to renovate a forgotten home managing a tight budget focusing on a few simple solutions.
We knew we could ‘breath new life’ into this home in lieu of filling a landfill. It had great bones, a great family location on a quiet street.
EXTERIOR BACKYARD
We simplified the exterior elements and increased the views from the interior of the house.
We replaced wood railings with a glazed/powder coat stair railing, repainted the exterior of the house, and removed the upper awning.
KITCHEN
The main focus of this small kitchen became storage space and a warm colour palette.
We maximized the cabinetry by increasing standard unit depths and extending heights to the underside of the ceiling.
LIVING AREA
We were able to ‘breath new life’ into the main living.
We simplified the entry stair and fireplace (wired it to receive a flat screen tv), painted with a warm colour palette, and refinished the oak floor.
WASHROOMS
Similar to the kitchen, the focus with these areas became visually maximizing the small space and increasing storage possibilities.
With lighting, a fresh colour palette and clean-line details we achieved our objectives.
INTERIOR ENTRY FEATURE
With a wee bit of imagination we succeeded in opening up a small space and creating a contemporary tone to the interior entry.
